http://www.jewishworldreview.com -- Dear G-d, I hear tell that the right reverends Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson say you've been upset. Mr. Falwell said that you continue to "lift the curtain of protection and allow the enemies of America what we probably deserve." Holy smokes. Mr. Robertson agreed and said something to the effect that we ain't seen nothin' yet. Wow, you gotta be really upset to allow such a tragedy. So let me get this straight. You made a decision to allow thousands of innocent people to die. So upset that you've allowed unbearable pain to many more thousands of families of those mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters, firemen and police, business people and clerics, pilots and passengers, Jesuits and Jews, Christians and Muslims, blacks and whites, Asians and Russians, fundamentalists and atheists, 700 Club members and porno-surfers, ACLU supporters and dittoheads, NOW members and Daughters Of The American Revolution, pro-choice and pro-life, gays and straights, right-to-lifers and rights-to-deathers. Yowzers. That's really upset! According to the twin pillars of what is right, You are in collusion with satan. Heaven and Hell on the same team. Bin Laden sends the means of destruction and You, who seems to have the choice of protecting us or yielding to the crime, have chosen complicity. Now I don't want to cast aspersions here. Wait, yes I do. Fanatic terrorists devastated our people, our landscape, because they disagree, rather strongly, with American ideals, thoughts and actions. Jerry and Pat have basically said that they agree with Bin-boy. And along the way, they say that, so do You. Now, perhaps You weren't aware of what the PTL poster boys said. Then again, You are supposed to be aware of everything. 'Course that doesn't mean that You agree with what they said. If You did, then, in fact, You would have to agree with the views of the terrorists who blew a hole right through each and everyone of our hearts on September 11. I'm gonna take a shot here. Jerry and Pat say You talk to them all the time. Call me crazy, but I think they might have spoken out before checking in with You. It's a faith thing with me. I don't believe in a G-d who chooses between good and evil. I believe in a G-d who allows us to make that choice. I also believe that G-d who gives us every opportunity to check in with Him about wrong and right. I believe the decision of what to do with that information is always up to us. I don't think my G-d would ever lift a curtain of protection. Why? Because I don't believe He would put that type of curtain up in the first place.
I do believe that there is a curtain of protection... YOU, covering each and every one of us. It may not protect us from the
deranged terrorist or his missiles of destruction, but it does protect us from thinking with the same hatred as those who blame
You for being a willing participant in this terrible
