Vice President Kamala Harris officiated over the annual Veteran's Day ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery on Friday. It gets more bittersweet each year. It's a day in which many of us honor our fathers and grandfathers who fought to keep this country from turning into exactly what it is today.

• Arlington National Cemetery hosted a moving ceremony on Veterans Day Friday honoring those service members who died in defense of the United States. The cemetery is located on the grounds of Robert E. Lee's estate in Virginia. Joe Biden went to the cemetery in May and had to show ID to get out.

• President Biden battled jet lag as he addressed a climate conference in Cairo on Friday en route to this week's G-20 Summit in Indonesia. He didn't forget the solemnity of the day back home. Biden posted a picture of himself with his dog Major and wished every American a Happy Veterinarian's Day.

• Time magazine reported that the Crypto market crashed due to a liquidity problem at the popular crypto exchange FTX and the ensuing investor panic wiped out fortunes in two days. What's the difference between a crypto investor and a pigeon? A pigeon can still make a deposit on a new Mercedes.

• NBC News in San Francisco reported that police body cam video showed Paul Pelosi greeted the SFPD at his door, then NBC suddenly pulled the story. Pelosi scandals disappear faster than your Crypto stock. In June Paul kissed Nancy goodbye at the door and then he was arrested for drunk driving.

• The White House called Georgia's record voter turnout democracy in action after Biden slammed their voting law as the return of Jim Crow. It was a harsh era I remember as a child. That was back when black folks all voted for the Party of Lincoln, so Democrats made them sit in the balcony with him.

• The Today Show reported the problem called Shrink-Flation at grocery stores in which the prices increase while at the same time, food portions are smaller in the packages. All my life I've been under the impression that air is free. That is, until last night when I bought a large sack of Lay's Potato Chips.

• The New York Post reported that Gisele Bundchen bought a mansion in Miami right across the street from her ex-husband Tom Brady's mansion. They split up about the way America and England did. We now live in a world where it's easier to get out of a marriage than a gym membership.

• President Biden of all people suggests Elon Musk's foreign business ties be probed. He provides Internet service for Ukraine's army and owns a Tesla parts factory in Shanghai. If Musk's deals with Ukraine and China are found to be crooked, Elon could get four-to-eight years in the White House.

• Elon Musk held an all-hands meeting with Twittter employees Thursday ordering them to return to work on site or resign. Musk also sent an open letter to advertisers last week assuring them that he has no intention of allowing Twitter to turn into a free-for-all hellscape. Those are his plans for Mars.

• The Los Angeles Times reported that full employment has left a shortage of city workers due to competition from the private sector. Last month while I was jogging on Sunset in Beverly Hills I saw a city worker jamming down tree branches into a wood chipper with his right foot. He now works at IHOP.

• A Republican won Hillary's House district Tuesday despite her support for the Democrat. While in line at the grocery store today I read in a gardening magazine that a thick clump of late blooming Crown Imperials will deter most cadaver dogs. Follow the Clinton Foundation for more gardening tips.

• Donald Trump ripped Mitch McConnell for not spending enough cash in Arizona to help push Trump's candidate win. You know the old saying in the Swing States. The opera ain't over till the fat lady sings, the voting machines break down, and the same-day mail-in ballots are delivered a week late.

• Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was courted by leading Republicans to run in 2024 following his election landslide Tuesday to try to blunt a Trump candidacy. Even Tom Brady, a previous Trump backer, texted Governor DeSantis. But maybe he was just trying to get a free flight back to New England.

• The Federal Reserve raised interest rates again last week in an effort to slow down inflation and to avoid a recession. I don't know how the Big Banks made so much money with interest rates so low. For the last ten years drinking beer and saving the cans gave you a higher yield than Certificates of Deposits.
