Gallup released a poll recently which said that seventy percent of Americans think the country is headed in the wrong direction. Forty years ago we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Ronald Reagan while today we have no Reagan, no Cash and no Hope. I just pray nothing ever happens to Kevin Bacon.

Cocaine Bear opened Friday in the true 1985 story of a bear that ate 70 pounds of cocaine from a bag in the woods. The bear goes wild in hilarious and dangerous situations before dying. Critics say Cocaine Bear is the Scarface of nature movies except the bear doesn't overact as much as Al Pacino.

Barbra Streisand will be given the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Woman of Leadership Award in April at the Library of Congress in Washington. Her anti-gun views are legendary. In California, you are not allowed to own a gun if you have a criminal record, a mental health record or a Barbra Streisand record.

Joe Biden was heckled by anti-war kids in D.C. last week as were Kamala and Hakeem Jeffries, hinting that Democrats could lose a huge anti-war vote in 2024. Biden is betting the last few years of his life he won't blow up the world by risking a war with Russia. Talk about playing with house money.

President Biden flew home from his mission to Poland and Ukraine Thursday where he pledged undying love for Ukraine. The president did achieve one lasting major accomplishment as a result of his trip. To comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, an elevator is being built for Air Force One.

The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library hosted an open house on President's Day with a new exhibit showcasing the New Deal's landmark social legislation. Many Americans have begun comparing President Biden to FDR. Not for his policies but for his inability to walk up stairs.

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg came to East Palestine, Ohio, to take a look at the chemical spill dressed like a clean-up worker. Nothing's funnier-looking than an Episcopalian in work clothes. Last week Pete said there are too many white construction workers and Thursday he dressed up like one.

ABC's Women of the View made news Thursday when Joy Behar stated the people of East Palestine, Ohio, got what they deserved with the train wreck chemical spill by voting for Trump. What can be done? Telling the Women of the View to calm down works about as well as somebody baptizing a cat.

House Republicans held a committee hearing on the U.S.-Mexican border crisis on-site in Arizona Thursday but Democrats boycotted. Oddly enough, Mexico City residents are complaining about Americans moving into their city to live opulently at lower cost. Mexico just built stairs to keep Biden out.

Vladimir Putin pulled Russia out of its nuclear deal with the U.S. and lined up with China while Biden met with NATO leaders to brace for war. Both presidents were just following their religious traditions. On both Western and Eastern Church calendars it was Reduce the World to Ash Wednesday.

All Saints Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills hosted its first Ash Wednesday service Wednesday since the pandemic began three years ago. It happens to be my church. Ash Wednesday in Beverly Hills is the one day per year when residents aren't sure if the gas station attendant is Mexican or Hindu.

Fox News interviewed Palestine, Ohio, residents who expressed anger that President Biden didn't come visit the train wreck that spilled toxic chemicals into their water, ground and air. The president had an urgent matter to attend overseas. Biden went to Kiev to meet the Ukrainian woman he met online.

President Biden met with the leaders of NATO nations in Europe Wednesday and doubled down on support for Ukraine. Unfortunately Joe fell down again while walking up the stairs to board Air Force One. It's fast approaching time for the Secret Service to place gravity on the Terrorist Watch List.

Donald Trump traveled to East Palestine, Ohio, Wednesday where he brought supplies and bottled water to victims of the chemical spill. The residents stood alongside the main street and greeted Trump like a conquering hero. President Biden will visit the town soon to see how they're doing without federal aid.

The Los Angeles Times reported that two Sacramento lawmakers introduced a bill to ban the use of canines for arrests and crowd control. The lawmakers claim police dogs are inherently racist tools that are used to repress black people. In fairness to the authors of the legislation the dogs ARE German.
