Good news/bad news Department. First the good news. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warned that his country's retaliation against Iran will be "precise and deadly." The minister told members of the Heroism Forum on Tuesday that Israel "will soon respond" to Iran's massive barrage of ballistic missiles, which occurred two weeks ago. Yes, Israel, please respond. Stop saying you're going to respond and get on with it already!
And now some bad news. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly informed the Biden administration of his willingness to constrain Israel's retaliation to military targets rather than going after Iran's nuclear and oil facilities. This is according to the Washington Post.
Evidently Netanyahu spoke with President Joe Biden last Wednesday and they discussed Israel's expected response and that it would be measured. So once again Israel is holding back the proper and necessary response to Iran's missile barrage on Israel last Oct. 1, to placate the feckless Biden administration. Iran's missile attack earlier this month was the second time this year that Tehran fired hundreds of projectiles toward Israel. In both instances, the first of which was in April, the U.S. military helped intercept the incoming projectiles.
The Middle East has been waiting for Israel's retaliation from Iran's 180 ballistic missile attack, with concern that the situation could escalate, which is a ludicrous thing to say. It's like saying in the middle of World War II that we should be careful that our response to Nazi aggression doesn't escalate the situation. What stupidity! Biden has constantly urged Israel to respond "proportionally" to avoid a subsequent Iranian retaliation, which could in turn lead closer to an all-out war between the two adversaries. Excuse me, Iran wants to obliterate Israel. How do you respond proportionally to an enemy who wants to annihilate you? The only way to respond "proportionally" to Iran is to defeat them once and for all.
This thing will never end until Iran's nuclear facilities are destroyed. Iran has to be stopped and the only way to do so is to bomb their oil and nuclear facilities. When will the war end? When Iran surrenders unconditionally. The mullahs must be stopped and the way you stop them is by winning the war. There is no diplomatic solution. How do you sit at a bargaining table with an enemy whose only objective is to wipe out the state of Israel and kill all the Jewish people?
For the first time, US military personnel have been sent to Israel. The U.S. Department of Defense announced the deployment of a THAAD system, or Terminal High Altitude Area Defense battery, to Israel over the last weekend. It is a ground-based interceptor designed to shoot down ballistic missiles, and it requires about 100 troops to operate the system.
An advanced team of U.S. military personnel and initial THAAD components made it to Israel on last Monday, while the remaining personnel and equipment will arrive "over the coming days," Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, Pentagon spokesman, said in a new statement on Tuesday. This is very good news, but acting defensively won't be enough. Israel must act offensively to combat Iran. And must do so swiftly and strongly.
Israel has never had a better window of opportunity to stop Iran once and for all than it does right now. They cannot wait for the United States to give them the permission to save their country from extinction. They must act alone to save themselves, just as Jews have always had to do. The Israelis have every right to push back and attack Iran with everything they've got. Otherwise, the threat to Israel's very existence will continue and the only way it will end will be the end of Israel.
