Hamas committed some of the most horrific atrocities in history when they stormed into Israel on October 7, 2023 killing 1,200 people mostly civilians, raping women, beheading babies, and abducting over 250 innocents, pulling them into Gaza and holding them hostage. They were proud of what they did. So proud that they broadcast their rapes and torture live on camera for all to see. They held parades in the streets, they celebrated, they cheered.
Now, two years later, they are still celebrating and bragging that the attack has created a “golden moment for the world to change history.” But Israel fought back, killing nearly every major Hamas and Hezbollah leader, and has, with the help of the US, gone into the belly of the beast, namely Iran, to decimate much of the Iranian capacity for nuclear weapons. And today the terror groups’ Arab sponsors are now in talks with Israel and the United States for a negotiated peace.
Even though much of the Western world has been unfairly critical of Israel, the Jewish nation did what they had to do, they protected themselves and secured their borders. They have prevailed in the face of overwhelming odds and they have come out on top. In fact, Israel has never been more secure than it is now.
President Trump has stated that either Hamas agrees to the deal that has been worked out between the US and Israel and much of the Arab world, or the terror group will be totally obliterated. Strong words. But the first thing that has to be done is a total return of all the hostages living and dead to Israel (about 48). Hamas has agreed to this in principle, but…and it’s a big but. Israel must release at least a thousand of their terrorists, leave Gaza completely, and abide by other things which would be beneficial to Hamas.
Negotiations are now going on in Egypt. This is where we stand. But why are there any negotiations at all? There is nothing to negotiate as far as I can tell. Hamas is for all intent and purpose destroyed. If who is left of their leaders do not turn over the rest of the hostages, then Israel needs to acknowledge to the world that the terrorist group will never release them because they are probably all dead, then proceed to blow what is left of Hamas to hell once and for all. End of story.
President Trump thinks he can deal with these antisemites in a rational manner, but the fact is, you can’t. These people are not rational in any way. And when I say “people” I mean more than Hamas, or even more than the so-called “Palestinians.” The Jewish-hating Arab world is filled with millions and millions of people who would like to eradicate Israel and wipe out the Jews.
The sad hard truth of the matter is, Islamist antisemitism is not going away with the elimination of Hamas. The Islamic religion will not stop their war on Israel until all of what is Israel is gone and all Jewish people are dead. That is paramount in their Koran, that is what their goal is. They teach their children to hate Jewish people and that it is honorable to kill them.
As Golda Meir once said, “We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.” The question has always been, will that ever come to pass?
Donald Trump thinks he can make it happen. We should know something in the coming days. To borrow one of President Trump’s expressions, let’s see what happens.
