Although I initially hesitated to write the title of today's column, in the end I simply had to. This is what is happening in the United States of America right before our eyes. We need to confront it. Former President Trump has been targeted since the day he first announced he was running for president in 2015. His enemies are the elite media, the deep state bureaucrats, and of course the Democrats.
He has been impeached twice, indicted four times, three by the feds and one from New York. He has had numerous civil actions taken against him, many are still active and involve multi-millions of dollars against the former president and his family. During his time in office, accusations and incriminations were made concerning his motives, his ties to foreign governments, his character, his family, his business, even his speech.
He was called a crook, a misogynist, a racist, a homophobe, a Hitler, and worse. These baseless accusations were made by Democrats and Trump-hating Republicans and echoed every single day by the legacy media. Everything they said about him was a lie. Both impeachments were bogus and were brought about to divert and cover up what the real crooks in this country were doing. It went on for four years. It is still going on.
The goal is to distract the American people from the underhanded machinations that the Leftists have been up to for years. This thing is bigger than Joe Biden, although he is a major player in it. Our government has become corrupt and the authoritarians in power need to keep that under wraps. Donald Trump is in their way and they need to silence him.
The fourth indictment against former President Trump happened last week and this week the media can hardly contain their giggling as Donald Trump, his attorneys and former aides are marched into the criminal court building to "surrender" themselves. One example: "Trump was hit with a sweeping fourth set of criminal charges on Monday when a Georgia grand jury issued an indictment accusing him of efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss to Democrat Joe Biden.
"The sprawling indictment lists 19 defendants and 41 felony counts in all. All were charged with racketeering, which is used to target members of organized crime groups and carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison." If this reads like a fait accompli guilty verdict, it's supposed to.
Bail was set for former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani at $150,000. He "surrendered" on Wednesday and yes, his mug shot was flashed across the world. Former president Donald Trump, whose bail was set at $200,000 "surrenders" this week as well. The Left will finally get their prized Trump mug shot.
With everything that's been thrown at him for the past almost eight years, it's a wonder Trump hasn't lost his mind. Of course that would be just fine with his enemies. If they can't have that, they'll settle for him losing all his money. Or losing his freedom by going to prison. Or worse. Whatever it takes to get him out of the public arena and out of the presidential race. What was it that the gangsters used to say in those old 1930's movies when they wanted to get rid of someone who was in the way of their nefarious business operations? "Make him disappear!"
Which reminds me of another story this week. Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin was one of ten people on the passenger list of a plane that crashed in Russia's Tver region on Wednesday, according to the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency.
Who was Prigozhin? He was the head of a private paramilitary group who launched an insurrection against President Putin's military. It didn't last long. Forces loyal to Prigozhin marched toward Moscow, before turning back after several days. Prigozhin allegedly struck a deal with Putin where he didn't face prosecution and was relocated to Belarus, according to the Kremlin.
Prigozhin's last known public appearance came in a video dated Aug. 21 from an undisclosed location in Africa. How do you say, "Make him disappear" in Russian?
Let's hope this doesn't give Biden any ideas. Nothing would surprise me at this point.
