Can entrepreneurship be taught? | (UPI) -- While some debate whether entrepreneurship can be taught, more than 800 colleges and universities are trying.

A 1970-survey of business schools found only 16 courses offered in entrepreneurship while today it's a topic taught in hundreds of business programs nationwide.

For the first time, Entrepreneur magazine has named the best entrepreneurship programs in the United States and explains the various types available.

More than 30 criteria were used in the study, including course offerings, faculty, business-community outreach, research centers and institutes, degrees and certificates offered and faculty and alumni evaluations.

Topping the list is Columbia University In New York City.
