Vet sends 40,000 decks of playing cards to soldiers | A Sacramento, Calif., man who served in the Corps of Engineers in World War II and in Vietnam has collected 40,000 decks of cards for U.S. soldiers in Iraq.

Joe Fraccola told KCRA-TV he wanted to show his support by donating the cards to the United Service Organizations.

"Look at every movie -- war movie -- you would see a segment in there, where the men and women are playing cards," Fraccola said.

He wrote to casinos and asked for decks -- and the cards started piling up. City Moving Co. volunteered to transport the desks to the USO in Maryland, which thanked Fraccola for his "generous donation."
