http://www.jewishworldreview.com | (UPI) -- Artico International, based in Florida, is cooperating with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in a big recall of a model of its Kitchen Gourmet Hot Pot.
Too bad some people kept on talking.
The company says it has received five reports of the pots separating. No injuries were reported, though.
The problem seems to be in some cases the bottom of the hot pot assembly can separate from the rest of the unit, which could produce a severe burn hazard. More than 37,000 of the hot pots are in the recall notification.
Walgreens stores sold the liquid heaters from last September until this January. They were priced at around $10.
The pots are in the shape of a pitcher and are made of white plastic. They have the date code "0702" printed on them, as well as the words "Kitchen Gourmet" and "Do Not Immerse in Water."
Customers are advised to stop using the appliance and to return them to the point of purchase for a full
refund. Additional information is available at (800) 645-3867.
