Doggie license plates? | (UPI) -- Dogs in Germany could be made to wear miniature license plates.

City officials in Frankfurt, Germany, are fed up with Fidos fouling all over the place, the British Broadcasting Corp. reports.

The license plates that would hang around dogs' necks would allow citizens to jot down the plate numbers of offending dogs so owners could be traced and cited for allowing their pooches to poo on the streets.

Peter Postleb, head of the "Clean Frankfurt" campaign, said, "If they (the owners) know their dog can get them fined, they might just think twice about letting them soil the streets."
