The ultimate 'gag order' | (UPI) -- A Texas judge has found at least one use for all that duct tape we've been stocking up just in case of a terrorist attack.

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal says a belligerent defendant who refused Judge Jim Bob Darnell's repeated requests to quiet down got his mouth shut with duct tape.

Even 36-year-old Carl Wiley's mother couldn't get him to settle down during his trial for aggravated assault so Judge Jim Bob ordered deputies to proceed with the ultimate gag order -- for about five to 10 minutes.

Prosecutor Nick Moutos described the incident as "surreal." Wiley later in the day was convicted.
