Barbie gets grandparents | (UPI) -- At 40-something, and looking as svelte and fit as she did decades ago, Mattel's Barbie is being joined by a set of grandparents.

The newest members of Barbie's family have gray hair and wear sensible clothes, but their 11.5 inch bodies are only slightly less perky than those of Barbie and boyfriend Ken, the New York Daily News reports.

The grandparents will be sold as a set and will arrive in stores this fall.

In addition, Barbie, in her newest guise as an obstetrician/gynecologist, is overseeing the birth of friend Midge's newest baby. As part of the "Happy Family" line, pregnant Midge comes packaged with husband Alan and toddler Ryan.
