This UN inspector knows a thing or two about torture | Hans Blix, head of the UN weapons-inspection army, has refused to accept the resignation of Harvey John McGeorge, who goes by the name of Jack.

Jack is a former Marine and Secret Service Agent who sells bioterror instruction manuals and protection gear. He's also a big-time sado-masochist, having led a series of S&M organizations including the Leather Leadership Conference which -- quote -- "produces training sessions for current and potential leaders of the sadomasochism/leather/fetish community."

Jack also retails videos and seminars that explore nontraditional uses for knives and ropes. Jack offered to resign from Team Blix when the Washington Post exposed his dark side, and revealed that he was less qualified to examine weapons of mass destruction than, say, scientists.

But Blix said a few piercings and asphyxiations ought not to disqualify one from UN service. So Jack is packing his gear.

Maybe he is the man for the job. The UN needs someone to explain the machinery in Saddam's torture chambers -- not to mention at least one inspector who knows how to crack the whip.
