The Ramsay Case — A monumental media-forensic medical-criminal justice-legal-legislative mess-up

http://www.JewishWorldReview.com | We interrupt our planned summer hiatus to comment on one of the most egregious and monumental legal-forensic messups of all time — the Jon-Benet Ramsay cold case. If you are feeling a bit angry, you are not alone.

The press, media, Greta, Dr. Henry Lee, the criminal justice system and the legislators are back pedaling faster than Floyd Landis and for good reason.

The worst offenders culprits are:

The media, in their desire for sensation, ratings and ruled by greed, acted as prosecutor, judge and jury on this one. They have this perpetual arrogance to think they have a right to know or be told everything. These are the same people who today think that they can leak and publish Grand Jury testimony.

Greta made a living out of this case on Fox News and now says she thought they were nice people who were not guilty.

Expert Criminologist Dr. Henry Lee now says the evidence is consistent with an intruder committing the murder. If that was the case why didn't one of his team find some strange DNA or other evidence then? This guy is great after the facts. Perhaps in further high profile cases law enforcement could try someone else.

The Boulder investigators somehow forgot all the rules of gathering evidence. Granted, 10 years ago TV wasn't dominated by the instructional "CSI Las Vegas," Miami or New York — or "Without a Trace Series." But even then, most sixth graders knew not to alter a crime scene. The investigators also didn't use scent dogs effectively. At that time the criminal defense attorneys had convinced non-thinking judges that bloodhounds couldn't track — even though their sense of smell is one million times more sensitive than a human's.

And most of all — why have the Congress and State legislators waited so long to pass sensible and strict Pedophile laws. Medicine knows that sexual abusers can not be cured. Even the abusers will tell you this. It's time to isolate these people from Society permanently. Not in a Draconian manner but in a way that treats everyone sensibly. There are currently 500,000 released sexual predators running wild and often unmonitored.

We all need to issue an apologize to the Ramsays. Anyone who thinks Patsy's Ramsay's recent demise from Cancer was not accelerated by stress is delusional. Although we can't apologize for many of those mentioned above (they never would anyway) we do apologize for those physicians and forensic medicine experts who feel, like we, that this case is one of the greatest legal-medical-media failures of all time.

May a final and restful peace come to the Ramsays.
